Professional Landscaping on the Gold Coast

From garden design to full property transformations, we create outdoor spaces that thrive in the Gold Coast's subtropical climate.

Your outdoor space should work as hard as the rest of your property. Whether you have an overgrown yard that needs a complete renovation, a new build that is still bare dirt, or an established garden that needs refreshing — we deliver landscaping that suits your property, your lifestyle, and the Gold Coast's subtropical climate.

Green Fingers Property Care provides end-to-end landscaping services across the Gold Coast. From initial design through to planting, turf, and finishing touches, we handle every stage of your project with the same crew. No subcontractors. No handoffs. And if you need a new pine fence as part of the project, we do that too — saving you the hassle of coordinating a second contractor.

Backed by Professional Horticultural Experience

Most landscapers learn plants on the job. Owner Bryce Roadley learned them in a wholesale nursery — growing, propagating, and supplying plants at commercial scale before bringing that knowledge to residential landscaping on the Gold Coast.

That experience means we understand plant health from the roots up — literally. We know how different species respond to Gold Coast soil types, which root systems will outcompete others, how fast a screening hedge will actually fill out, and which plants will thrive for years versus which ones look great for six months then fail. When we recommend a plant for your garden, it is based on years of growing them professionally, not a quick search online.

Garden Design Tailored to Gold Coast Conditions

Good landscaping starts with a plan. We work with you on-site to understand how you use your outdoor space, what you like, and what your property needs. But design is not just about aesthetics. On the Gold Coast, a garden design that ignores local conditions will struggle within the first year. We factor in:

  • Sun and shade patterns across your block throughout the day and across seasons
  • Soil type — whether you are dealing with sandy coastal soil, heavy clay, or red volcanic soil in the hinterland
  • Drainage requirements — the Gold Coast receives heavy subtropical rainfall, and poor drainage ruins gardens and damages foundations
  • Existing features worth keeping — mature trees, established plants, natural contours
  • Privacy and screening needs, especially for properties on smaller lots or near busy roads
  • Maintenance level you are comfortable with — we can design for low-maintenance or hands-on gardening

Subtropical Plant Selection

Choosing the right plants is one of the most important decisions in any Gold Coast landscaping project. The wrong species will struggle with humidity, burn in full sun, or become invasive. With Bryce's wholesale nursery background, we select plants based on first-hand knowledge of how they grow — not what looks good on a label.

Our plant selection covers:

  • Native species like Grevillea, Callistemon, Lomandra, and Dianella that thrive with minimal water once established. We know which cultivars perform best in Gold Coast conditions because we have grown them from propagation through to maturity.
  • Tropical and subtropical favourites including Frangipani, Bird of Paradise, Heliconia, and Cordyline — species we have worked with extensively in nursery environments and know how to establish properly in residential settings.
  • Screening plants such as Lilly Pilly, Murraya, and Photinia for privacy hedging along fence lines. We can advise on exactly which varieties reach your target height and density, and how long it will take — because we have watched them grow at scale.
  • Succulents and ground covers for low-maintenance garden beds, rockeries, and gap-filling. Our propagation experience means we know which species spread reliably and which ones struggle in the Gold Coast's wet summers.

Turf Supply and Installation

Nothing transforms a yard faster than fresh turf. We supply and install turf suited to Gold Coast conditions, preparing the ground properly so your lawn establishes quickly and stays healthy.

Our turf installation process covers site preparation, soil improvement, turf selection (Sir Walter Buffalo for shade tolerance, Wintergreen Couch for full-sun areas, or Zoysia for low-maintenance lawns), professional laying, and aftercare advice. We know from hands-on experience which turf varieties handle specific microclimates — shaded courtyards, full-sun north-facing yards, or high-traffic family backyards.

Garden Bed Preparation and Planting

Healthy plants start with healthy soil. Working in wholesale horticulture taught Bryce that soil preparation is the difference between plants that survive and plants that thrive. We do not skip this step.

Our process includes weed removal, soil assessment, amendment with compost and conditioners suited to your specific soil type, installation of garden edging, planting at correct depths and spacing, and quality mulching. Every plant goes into soil that has been prepared to give it the best start — the same approach used in professional nursery production.

Mulching and Soil Improvement

Mulch is one of the most cost-effective investments in any Gold Coast garden. In our climate, bare soil dries out quickly, heats up in summer, and encourages weed growth. We apply quality mulch at the right depth (75–100mm) using materials suited to your garden — hardwood chip, pine bark, sugar cane, or recycled timber mulch. We match the mulch type to your plants, because some species prefer acidic mulch while others do not.

Retaining Walls

Sloping blocks are common across the Gold Coast, especially in suburbs like Mudgeeraba, Nerang, and the hinterland foothills. A properly built retaining wall creates usable flat space, prevents erosion, and adds structure to your landscape design. We build using treated pine sleepers, concrete sleepers, sandstone, and concrete block systems.

Need a retaining wall and a new boundary fence along the same property line? That is exactly the kind of combined project where having one team saves time, money, and coordination headaches.

Outdoor Living Areas

Your backyard should be more than a patch of grass. We design and build outdoor living areas that extend your usable living space — patio and entertaining areas, garden paths, fire pit areas, screening and privacy planting, and lighting preparation.

We coordinate outdoor living areas with your fencing and garden layout so everything works together as a unified space.
